Rescroft, the leading UK seat manufacturer, displayed for the first time its new, prototype backrest assembly for supporting the head, neck and back of the wheelchair user in vehicles. NMI Safety Systems demonstrated the unique Maxibase at Ambulex 2011

Maxibase, the new slide and lock-in base system from NMI featured strongly on their stand. This new concept allows the passenger seat to move from the front to the back of the vehicle without being removed from the track. It fixes in position with just one simple locking mechanism. With the Maxibase the seat can slide, rotate and move to a paramedic station allowing the attendant to treat the patient while seated and belted. This is an important safety feature because the paramedic is normally seated on the other side of the vehicle. NMI are targeting the Maxibase in the paramedic market. Eagle International reported a very busy time at Ambulex 2011

Eagle displayed two vehicles on their stand at Ambulex. The crowd puller on the stand was the Skoda Yeti 4x4 Responder car launched at the show. They also showed their new Fiat A&E ambulance demonstrator which was designed specifically for the bariatric patient. The stand had visitors from the NHS Trusts and the private ambulance sector and the sales staff were very pleased with the complimentary comments made about the designs and build quality of their vehicles.
